Nideyinàn, formerly known as the University Centre, is a focal point for student life at Carleton.
It houses student-run CKCU-FM radio; the Bookstore; the University’s student newspaper The Charlatan; Information Carleton; the International Student Services Office; a variety of student clubs and organizations including the Carleton University Students’ Association; as well as classrooms, pubs, eateries, banking machines and a variety store.
The Paul Menton Centre for Persons with Disabilities, located in room 500, provides a wide range of support services to students with learning, physical, psychiatric and medical disabilities.

Parking

Exterior Entrances
3 accessible entrances lead to level 1. Main entrance near Campus Avenue and P2. Side entrance towards Architecture Building. Side entrance near Canal Building.
Interior Entrances
Two tunnel entrances to level 1. Note: the entrance from tunnel D (orange) is accessible, but the entrance from tunnel A (grey) leads to stairs. Tunnel link on level 4 connects to Tory Building.
Elevators
2 elevators. #1 (near main entrance) serves levels 1-4. #2 (near main-level tunnel entrance) serves levels 1-5. Both elevators feature tactile and braille buttons, an audible announcement system (voice and beeps), and a mirror.
Washrooms
Accessible universal washrooms on levels 1 and 4 (door openers). Partially-accessible* universal washrooms on levels 4 and 5 (*no door openers, but doors are lightweight and not self-closing). Accessible stalls in multi-stall washrooms on level 1 (open entry). Accessible stalls in multi-stall washrooms on level 2, but these washrooms are in an area through doors without a door opener. The female washroom has a door opener, the male washroom does not. Accessible stall in multi-stall male washroom on level 5 (open entry). Telephones
Pay phones accessible. Designated phones for priority use of persons with disabilities located on levels 2 (lobby of Porter Hall), 4 and 5.
Classrooms
Porter Hall (level 2) and Baker’s lounge (level 4) are used for occasional events and lectures.

Hugo’s, Arcade, Nideyinàn store and Oliver’s on first level. Peppermill Cafeteria and Mike’s Place on second level. Rooster’s, Faculty Club on the fourth level.

More direct access through Porter Hall from the loading dock. No elevator access to one wing of the third floor.
Remarks/Hints
In order to avoid a steep, troublesome rise in the tunnel system as it goes around Nideyinàn (three stories high), students should use the Nideyinàn-Tory Building link to get to the top of the tunnel rise.
